SorcerialBladeCannon has an interesting key mechanic (flipping to another phase to take out shields/destructible elements and then flipping back to do key damage) and a bit of scratchy jank (this steam release is apparently apparently started as a mobile title, which you can feel a bit), and it's great for both those reasons, but the thing that draws in more than anything else is the aesthetic/scenario.

Metal plated scarab craft, giant swinging techno swords, post AI singularity psuedo religious overtones with robotic acolyte dream shoujo. Playing just to feel the world flow through you, phasing between this reality of scifi anime radiance and the one in which you are playing a game where the item pickup radius might just be a bit too small.
